Michael Courtney has been with NYSERDA’s Home Modernization Program since 2019, supporting New York State’s electrification goals. Michael manages market development efforts for heat pumps in the single-family program. He is the project manager for Clean Heat Connect, a network of cold-climate air source heat pump manufacturers and distributors. The network provides technical and educational tools and resources to HVAC contractors, increasing the quantity and quality of cold climate air source heat pump installations in New York State. The network provides information through contractors’ trusted sources and fills market gaps in knowledge and skills. Michael also managed the development of the heat pump planner, a popular consumer-facing website providing visual examples and details of heat pump options for various home types.
Prior to working with NYSERDA, Michael provided home energy assessments and sales and managed homeowner education and outreach programs under NYSERDA’s Green Jobs-Green New York Program.
